DESPITE the changeable weather, crowds flocked to the annual Bromyard Gala last weekend.
The gala, a combination of a country show and rally of steam engines and vintage vehicles, took place at Birchyfields, just outside Bromyard, last Saturday and Sunday.
The 66-acre site featured steam engines, vintage and classic vehicles, fair organs, a gardening and food fair, archery, a dog show, rare breed rabbits, trade stands and an old time fair. There was also a performance from the Kangaroos gymnastics display team and musical entertainment was provided by Dampier’s Round, the Cinderford Band and the Ebbw Vale male voice choir.
The show, which is in its 41st year, also featured military vehicles, including a Hodgkiss Jeep which was used in the television series Band of Brothers, and various demonstrations such as wood-sawing.
There were also competitions for flower arrangements, cakes, wines, chutneys and handicrafts.
