REPAIR work can be carried out on St Peter's Church in Glasbury thanks to a Heritage Lottery Fund grant.

Almost £10,000 has been promised to the 200-year-old St Peter’s.

The development grant will help the parochial church council draw up plans for the work ahead of a further funding bids.

“In its setting, St Peter's Church in Glasbury is an iconic building on an important site,” said the Bishop of Swansea and Brecon, the Right Reverend John Davies.

“It is gratifying to know that its importance has been recognised in so far as the Heritage Lottery Fund has agreed to make a grant to the parochial church council to enable it to authorise the preparation of a detailed specification for the works to the tower of the building.”

The development grant is for £9,100. The money means the church can afford to go ahead and develop its plans further to compete for a firm grant award from HLF.
