Newsagents in Ledbury and Ross-on-Wye sold alcohol to underage drinkers

TWO Herefordshire off-licences face licence reviews after selling alcohol to underage shoppers.

Gwalia Stores in Ross -on- Wye and the Spar in Ledbury failed test purchases set up by trading standards officers on the same day earlier this summer.

Both will now come before a Herefordshire Council committee to decide their fate.

On June 27, a 16-year-old boy was sold four cans of lager at the Spar store on Ledbury High Street.

On the same evening, another 16-year-old boy was sold four cans of lager at the Gwalia Stores on Broad Street.
