Hereford Tesco cashpoint theft update: police thank public

THE police have thanked the public - and the Hereford Times - as efforts are made to trace two men responsible for stealing £100 from an elderly woman.

The 79-year-old was withdrawing money from the cash point outside the Tesco store in Belmont, Hereford, when the pair made off with the money.

Chris Ammonds, police press officer, said the force received a great number of calls after CCTV stills of the alleged offenders were published on the Hereford Times website.

He said: "We now believe we have identified the men responsible for the theft and will be making contact with them later.

"Many thanks to the Hereford Times and the members of the public for their help."
