THREE people have been treated by ambulance crews following a lightning strike on flats in Hereford this afternoon.

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to properties in Glenstall Close, Belmont, at around 3.30pm.

Two ambulances, a paramedic in a rapid response vehicle and an incident support officer attended the scene.

Steve Parry, a West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman, said: “Ambulance crews treated two females and one male for shock, together with cuts and abrasions sustained from falling masonry.

“All those treated were assessed at the scene and did not require further hospital treatment.”

Three crews from Hereford Fire Station, including an aerial ladder platform, and a crew from Fownhope, are at the scene.

Significant damage has reportedly been caused to the roof of flats.
