Woman taken to Hereford County Hospital after being trapped in car

A WOMAN was taken to hospital after being trapped for about an hour in her car in Herefordshire.
An accident happened near the Newtown Crossroads, Lower Eggleton, on the A4103 at around 4.40pm yesterday.
A rapid response vehicle, an Ambulance, and a paramedic area support officer attended, along with two doctors from Mercia Accident Rescue Service.
Murray MacGregor, a spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service, said: “There were two cars involved – one had also struck a tree and had suffered considerable damage.
“The woman driving, who was approximately 30 years old, was trapped for around an hour while ambulance staff and firefighters worked to free her.
“She was suffering from possible abdominal and chest injuries and a laceration to her arm. However, despite the damage, her condition was not serious."
The woman was taken to Hereford County Hospital for further treatment.
“There was a woman and two children in other vehicle. Thankfully no one had been hurt and did not require hospital treatment,” added Mr MacGregor.
