Herefordshire post office opens in Hoarwithy pub near Ross-on-Wye

A POST office has been given the stamp of approval at its unusual new home.

Villagers in Hoarwithy can now visit their local if they need to buy stamps as the part-time post office is now found in the New Harp Inn.

Adrian Shaw, landlord and parish councillor, said: “The original post office closed in November when it was located in a separate building.

"I’m all for making life easier for local people so having the post office in the pub suits my customers and I hope it will go from strength to strength."

Adrian said in its first week of trading the post office saw brisk business in the sale of stamps with customers bidding to beat an impending price rise.

The post office is open from 9am to 11am on a Monday and 2pm to 4pm on a Friday.
