A HEREFORDSHIRE MP is calling for rural residents to provide evidence on the economic challenges of living in the countryside to the Office of Fair Trading (OFT).
The competition and consumer authority wants to get a better understanding of the issues and how to address them.
"Many very rural areas face challenging market conditions - with fewer suppliers, reduced access to key services, less choice and higher distribution costs," said Bill Wiggin MP.
Individuals and businesses wishing to make a contribution should send their views no later than April 20. The OFT expects to publish its study in July.
To participate visit www.oft.gov.uk, email remotecommunities@oft.gsi.gov.uk, or write to: Remote Communities Team, Office of Fair Trading, 23 Walker Street, Edinburgh, EH3 7HX.
