POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision on the A417 near Ledbury yesterday (Monday, March 15).
The two-vehicle collision, involving a white Scania lorry and a red Mercedes van, occurred at around 10.45pm near to the junction with the M50.
Following the collision, the road was closed until 8.30am today (Tuesday).
The driver of the Mercedes van, a man from Worcester, was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision. The coroner has been informed.
Paramedics took the driver and passenger of the Scania lorry to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital to receive treatment for minor injuries.
The two men, a 53-year-old man and a 38-year-old man, both from Spain, were then arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. They are currently being questioned by police.
