Benefit gig for Haiti appeal at Hereford's Blue Rooms

A BENEFIT gig at The Blue Rooms on Saturday has been put together by the local music community to raise money for the Haiti earthquake appeal.

The Blue Rooms and the musicians are all giving their services free, ensuring that all the money raised on the door will go straight to the Disasters Emergency Committee.

Playing on the night are The Misers, fast becoming one of Britain’s most talked-about bands, taking top spot on the MySpace charts recently.

“Raising money for the people of Haiti at this terrible time for them is something we are very proud to be involved in and we are honoured to have been asked”, Neil Ivison of The Misers.

Also on the line-up are local band Small Engine Repair, described by Artrocker magazine as “life affirming”, with Tim Manning opening the show with some solo acoustic tracks from his ever-growing songbook.

After the live show, local DJ Steve Pickup will play a selection of what he likes to call ‘bongo groove’. For more information go to wildhareclub.com or blueroomshereford.co.uk. Details of the total raised will appear on both websites after the event.
