Hay estate agent to close

THE Hay-on-Wye branch of a Welsh estate agent is set to close.
Properties for sale with Clee Tompkinson and Francis and staff working at its St John’s Place premises will be transferred to its Brecon office in the future.
Partner Gareth Griffiths said: “Due to reduced sales in the property market, Clee Tompkinson and Francis have reluctantly decided to close the Hay office and service their properties in the neighbouring office of Brecon.
“Some members of staff will be transferring to Brecon, and will continue their marketing from the Brecon office.
“This is in line with the national slowdown in property transactions with the credit crunch that arrived last autumn.”
Mr Griffiths said the decision would not affect any of the 12 remaining offices run by the firm.
