THERE were horsedrawn carriages and faithful steeds – but thankfully no pumpkins – at this year’s Wyebridge Sports College leavers’ ball.

A lorry and three mini-tractors were also among the more creative transport choices from Year 11 students determined to arrive at the Green Dragon bash in style.

Among those who shunned the traditional limousine option was Louise Hoyle, who rode up to the entrance on her horse Cocky, and Callum Probyn, whose trucker dad dropped him outside.

Jasmine Ricketts Devereux, Kirsty Hopkins, Sophie Fielder, Chelsie Harris, Sam Tozer and Jacob Phillips also paid tribute to the place they were saying goodbye to by arriving in the old Haywood High School minibus.

Later competitions for the best dressed boy and girl were won by Ceiron Gribbin and Natalie Harvey and prizes, including an iPod and special leavers’ hoodies were raffled off.
