THE biggest Christmas Fayre yet took place in Ross-on-Wye yesterday for the lights switch-on.
The fayre took place around the Market House in the town centre before the lights were switched on at 4pm.
It was the last time the event will be organised by town councillor, Hannah Lerego.
She said: "It's been a very rewarding task to arrange the fayre. It takes many months and a lot or organisation behind the scenes which others don't realise.
"I hope the paid staff of town council will take it on but as a volunteer I'm happy to have given my past three years to growing the fayre to the success it is but have decided not to continue it.
"I've had lots of positive feedback and thanks and I am very proud of the event and all those who supported it."
St Mary's Church held its Christmas Tree Festival during the weekend.
