RESIDENTS at a Hereford care home have taken part in art classes as part of a project by a theatre.
The Courtyard, Hereford’s Centre for Arts, is running a two-year Colour Me Purple project to encourage creative participation and sharing of experiences, through working with older people using visual arts-based activities.
An artist went to Charles Court Care Home, off Hoarwithy Road, for ten weeks to residents make two sensory art books.
Activities coordinator Clarissa Haley said: “The project has had a very positive effect, encouraging residents to ‘have a go’ even if they felt they were ‘not good at art’, highlighting the benefits of a mutually creative and inclusive experience."
