A MAN was taken to hospital after being released from his van following a crash near to Bromyard.

Shortly before 11am on Saturday, there was a crash on the B4203 in Upper Sapey between a Mercedes Sprinter van and a Nissan X-Trail.

Police said the driver of the van was trapped and released by fire crews from Bromyard and Stourport.

An ambulance, a paramedic area support officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham attended the scene.

An ambulance spokesman said: "We took one patient to hospital, a man in his 40s, who was the driver of the van. He was treated for an arm injury, given pain relief and transported by land ambulance to Worcester Royal Hospital."

The female driver of the Nissan, a woman believed to be in her 50s, was treated with a leg injury and was going to make her own way to hospital.
