A SEVEN-year-old with special needs was a VIP for the day at B&Q in Leominster.

Oliver Chapman's mother, Michelle Brown, wrote a post on B&Q's Facebook page saying how much her son loved the DIY chain store.

After seeing the post, B&Q Leominster’s unit manager, Shane Williams, got in touch with his family and personally invited them to the store.

Oliver was given his own apron and name badge and staff showed him how to mix paint, demonstrated how some of the tools and machines worked, and he had a go on the tills.

Shane said: "After hearing about Oliver’s love of B&Q, we were only too pleased to invite him to the store for his very own VIP experience. Oliver’s passion is something we embrace at B&Q and it was lovely to see him in his own orange apron and name badge."

He was given his own toy toolkit to take home as a memento of his visit.

Michelle said: "Oliver was so excited to be invited to the B&Q store – and he loved every minute of it. The colleagues were so good with him and they went out of their way to give him a great experience - making him feel like one of the team."
