FIREFIGHTERS will receive a one per cent salary increase.
The Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service has published its pay policy for the year ahead and all workers will receive a one per cent rise.
The chief fire officer will be paid £124,712 with the deputy chief fire officer receiving £99,943.
Uniformed firefighters pay grade ranges from £22,237 to £29,638.
However, members of the Fire Authority committee, who are councillors from both Herefordshire and Worcestershire, voted to not increase the members' allowance.
It was proposed that the members receive an increase of £18.65 a year, which would be added to the current basic allowance of £1,165.80.
The councillors receive allowances in recognition of their various duties and the time they give the undertake authority work.
