WITH the arrival of snow on the Black Mountains, a village primary school took the opportunity to incorporate it into their learning.
With the roads cleared by the council, the school bus pick-up went ahead as planned and most pupils attended Michaelchurch Escley Primary School last Friday, despite it being high up on the edge of the mountains.
Gary Crocker, deputy headteacher, said: "To make the most of the snow, we moved our Friday Forest School session forward to the morning and headed out with the toboggans (and a few trays!).
"The children had a fantastic time and it was lovely to see the older, junior children interacting so thoughtfully with the younger children, giving them rides on sledges and helping them up hills - something that typifies the spirit at the school."
Forest School is a hands on learning experience for pupils in the outdoors and woodlands.
