A COUPLE have opened their first restaurant in an empty unit in Hereford.

Beth Thompson, 24, and Swav Lewandowski, 30 have 14 years of experience in the hospitality industry between them and decided to take the plunge and open their own place, Madam & Adam.

It has opened next to the old bridge in Bridge Street and opposite the Left Bank.

The name refers to Beth as Madam, and Adam is a tribute to Swav's dad, who sadly passed away a number of years ago, and it is also Swav's middle name.

Beth's mum is from Hereford and Beth said she has always felt as if the city is her home.

The couple, who live near the restaurant, said they want to create a relaxed atmosphere, where people can enjoy tea, coffee and cake, or a sandwich at lunchtime.

Their menu focuses on fine dining small plates, which are bigger than tapas, which are served from 12pm to 10pm Tuesday to Saturday and 12pm to 6pm on Sundays.
