COUNCILLORS have proposed to make four buildings, a trail and a village green assets of community value.
Ross-on-Wye Town Council want to see The Larruperz Centre, Tudorville Community Centre, Quaker Meeting House, The Town and Country Trail, Gresleys Village Green and John Kyrle's House in High Street made into assets of community value by Herefordshire Council.
The county council will now decide if the suggestions fit the criteria.
A building or land can be considered an asset of community value if it is currently used to improve the social well-being and interests of the local community, or has been used in the recent past in this way.
If any of the listed assets are put up for sale, the council will inform the community and give them time to consider bidding to take over the asset themselves as a community enterprise.
The legislation does not guarantee that the community will be able to buy the asset, it just allows them time to prepare a bid for it on the open market.
