A LEOMINSTER pub was forced to close this morning after being struck by thieves.
There was a heavy police presence in the town centre after The Dukes Head, a Wetherspoon pub in Corn Square, was broken into at around 5am.
Eddie Gershon, a spokesman for Wetherspoon, said one slot machine was broken into and a small amount of cash stolen.
In a statement, he said: "We can confirm that The Dukes Head, in Leominster, was broken into at around 5am this morning and the police attended. We are helping them in whatever way we can.
"One slot machine was broken into, with a small amount of cash stolen.
"The pub was closed for a short while this morning, while the police were in attendance, however the pub is now open as normal."
