A VILLAGE pub near Ross-on-Wye has reopened after being closed for more than a year.

Paul Williams, a businessman who owns Supreme Services, has refurbished the Penny Farthing in Aston Crews.

He will be serving a gastropub menu and will be open six days a week and closed on Mondays.

He said: "It is just a nice little pub. I came here a few years ago for a drink and back in the day it used to be a busy pub. I would like to see it busy again."

Mr Williams, who lives at the pub with his five children, has applied for planning permission to provide extra bedrooms on the first floor and increase the dining room area on the ground floor.
