AN alcohol and drugs treatment service has pulled out of moving into a former chapel in a market town.
The county-wide service, Addaction, was chosen by Ross town council as the preferred tenant for the empty Old Chapel in Cantilupe Road, Ross-on-Wye.
But an Addaction spokesman said: “Addaction has made the decision not to provide drug and alcohol services from the Old Chapel in Ross-on-Wye; after further inspection of the premises it would not be suitable or viable for Addaction to provide all elements of service delivery from the premises. "Addaction is currently exploring opportunities to work in collaboration with local partners in Ross and interim provision continues to be provided in Ross from the Larruperz Centre."
Artist Mary Deaville would now like to pursue her plans to set up Chapel Creatives.
She is looking for creative people/businesses to rent the four rooms inside the Old Chapel.
Ms Deaville hopes the venture would help people of all ages and abilities access their creative side, with the aim to aid their mental health and wellbeing.
