DRIVERS are being asked not to remove cones from the road at Bridge Sollars which have been placed there to protect the public.
The cones have been put in place by Herefordshire Council’s contractors, Balfour Beatty, because there is subsidence under the A438 near to the Russian Cottage/ Garnons Estate.
Traffic lights have also been put in place to manage traffic safely but there have been reports of people moving the cones to make it easier for them to pass.
A Herefordshire Council spokesman said: “The cones and lights are there to protect the travelling public – please ensure they are left as positioned.
“It is likely that they will need to be in place for the next six to eight weeks until we are able to repair the void.”
