LEOMINSTER residents are being asked to share their views on the town council's budget proposals for 2016 onwards.

The five-year budget and business plan for Leominster Town Council can be downloaded on the town council's website, where a short presentation can also be seen.

Proposals include taking on more services and retaining those it has already taken over including street cleaning, improved Leominster in Bloom watering, grass-cutting and refurbished toilets.

The council is also in the process of purchasing 11 Corn Square as a community hub at a cost of around £500,000 and is also concerned that a transitional grant of just over £40,000 which is provided by Herefordshire Council could be removed.

The town council is proposing to increase its council tax precept from £79.34 for band D homeowners to £110.58 a year. It would be an increase of 60p per week.

Budget questionnaires can be downloaded from Leominster Town Council's website and comments can be emailed to townclerk@leominstertowncouncil.gov.uk or taken to the town council offices at 17 West Street.

Comments should be received by Monday December 14.
