MILITARIA and items from Nazi Germany are to go under the hammer at an auction in Leominster.

Brightwells will sell a local private collection of German First and Second World War decorations, awards, weapons and ephemera on October 14.

Two stamped 800 silver iron crosses with ribbons are both estimated to sell for between £800 to £1,000.

Kriegsmarine and Imperial Navy Awards are also well represented, with a 1918 Imperial German U-boat badge estimated at more than £300-£400.

A smartly cased presentation set of an Imperial German U-boat officer, including a U-boat badge, black Wound Badge and visor cap cockade is estimated at £400 to £500.

Other examples of awards include a paratrooper’s badge, pilot’s badge, gilder pilot’s badge and an airgunner’s badge all in 800 silver and individually estimated at £400 to £600.

An SS Dagger by Herder Solingen and a Kriegsmarine Dagger with knot, straps and carrying bag are part of an interesting selection of weapons.
