A LEDBURY woman is set to fly to the Far East this weekend ahead of a charity trek at a world heritage site.

Lydia Bailey will walk the Great Wall of China with Midland Heart colleague, Simi Chopra, to raise money for the Alzheimer's Society.

The challenge is part of Midland Heart's ongoing commitment to supporting both carers and individuals living with dementia, and although the duo has already raised more than £4,000 they are keen to meet their £6,000 target.

Ms Bailey, who is head of health and care at Midland Heart, said: "Walking the wall is a personal challenge, but it also demonstrates Midland Heart's commitment in releasing us to take on this challenge.

"We want to help raise awareness of dementia and ensure the right support is always available – so anyone affected by dementia can live a positive, fulfilling life."
