A campaign has been launched calling for CCTV cameras to be installed on the Great Western Way in Hereford, with the founder of the online petition saying the area is increasingly becoming a ‘no-go’ area.

In this week’s online poll, at herefordtimes.com, we asked whether technology is the best way to deter anti-social behaviour in the area.

A total of 819 people took part with 74 per cent agreeing that CCTV should be installed along the Great Western Way.

Many disagreed, however, with 18 per cent suggesting security equipment was not the answer.

Four per cent said they didn’t know and the same percentage voted ‘I don’t care’.
