THE family of a young woman who died in a road collision in north Herefordshire on Monday have paid tribute to her.

Amethyst Kellie Audrey Young, 27, died after her car came off the road on the A44 between Pembridge and Lyonshall and collided with the hedgerow.

In a tribute released this afternoon the family said: "Amethyst Kellie Audrey is the special daughter of Elysia Lynn and Hannah Mai Young and a loving sister to Donna-Lynn and Jayce Young.

"Born 15th May 1988 in Shotley Bridge Hospital, County Durham, she was christened Kellie Audrey Young, but she loved the colour and crystal Amethyst so legally added this to her name."

Her family called her Spuggy - a northern-based term for a sparrow - as she was "the smallest and most fragile of us all".

"She was a very beautiful lady full of hope, love, kindness and compassion for her family and animals," the family added.

"Spuggy was a quiet young lady and loved reading books, she spent many hours reading on her iPad.

"Spuggy worked as a legal secretary at Gabbs Solicitors in Leominster for nearly eight years, and was working towards her dream of becoming a solicitor as she was very career orientated.

"She was a very conscientiousness, hard worker and liked everything to be perfect.

"Spuggy brought joy, support and strength to her family and never gave up even when the chips were down. She organised our lives and special occasions making each day and every event a special day to remember.

"Spuggy was a spiritual person with a deep connection to her world around her and had a love of crystals and angels.

"Her energy is positive and comforting to everyone she met and interacted with. Spuggy was a fun person who could be cheeky with a very playful attitude and brightened every day. We all looked forward to our interactions with her as each of them were unique and special.

"As Spuggy matured from a child to an adult, she became more beautiful as she blossomed and embraced her life head on. Spuggy loved to dance, listen, and sing along with her music and she will be forever missed.

"She was like a crystal herself with so many beautiful facets. She is an angel and will forever be in our hearts. We love you Spuggy."
