YOUNGSTERS at Busy Bees pre-school in Ledbury are taking advance of the sunny weather to have a blooming lovely time.

Manager Emma Davis said: "This week, we have decided to brighten up our outdoor area by planting up our tubs and hanging baskets. We are keen to encourage gardening activities as they can extend children's development by helping them take care of plants and flowers and show respect for living things.

On Tuesday, April 21 our Gardening Club planted bedding plants including Petunias, Lobelia and Dianthus. They counted the correct number of plants per tub, used gardening tools and practised their writing skills by helping to label the containers. The children were very proud of their achievements and are looking forward to nurturing the plants over the coming months."

Miss Davis added: Busy Bees have enjoyed a wonderful start to the Summer term, particularly helped by the gorgeous sunshine we have been experiencing. We always like to make the most of outdoors in all weathers. However, alongside enjoying the current warmer days, we have also been promoting sun safety, encouraging the children to wear hats and sun cream."

Busy Bees will be holding a fundraising Bingo night at Leadon Bank on Saturday April 25. Doors will open at 7pm with eyes down at 8pm.
