A FESTIVAL to celebrate the best of Leominster's colourful past and present is just weeks away.

This year marks the 31st Leominster Festival and will be based on the theme 'Lurid Leominster'.

It will see the town host a range of events for just over a week between May 30 and June 7.

Returning to this year's festival after the success of last year's is About Face Theatre Company with its production of My Apple Dumpling Girl.

The show will feature as part of the family fun day which will launch the festival on Saturday May 30 and there will be a free apple pie and drink for any youngsters who watch the entertainment at Leominster's Community Centre.

In addition, the actors will lead a sing-along at Norfolk House during the week allowing the residents to be part of the Leominster Festival.

About Face Theatre Company is part of Echo, a charity providing a range of opportunities for people with disabilities in Herefordshire.
