A NURSE who wants to be close to her mother to be able to look after her has been given permission to build a home in her garden.
Lesley Watkins applied for outline planning permission to build a house in the garden of her mother's cottage in Weobley.
Herefordshire Council's planning committee was told Miss Watkins' mum is in her 80s and has a series of serious health concerns.
Cllr Dave Greenhow said: "She wants to be close to her mother in her ageing years.
"Our social care is getting very restricted- the care isn't there.
"When we get someone who wants to live close to their parents- mother, father or any family- with a desire to look after them, I think that should be rewarded."
The committee approved the application.
