TWO men were assaulted outside Morrisons in Ross this morning as they delivered cash to the supermarket's cash machine.

They were attacked by two men who made off with a briefcase of cash in a stolen car.

Police were called at 6.45am to the supermarket to reports of two men being robbed while working on an ATM cash machine.

They sustained minor injuries after they were assaulted by two other men.

One of the robbers has been described as white, mid 30s, 6ft tall, of a stocky build and wearing dark clothing and a black woolly beanie hat.

There is no description available for the other man.

Police said it is unknown how much money was in the briefcase.

The white getaway car was found in Great Western Court in Ashburton Industrial Estate by police, who said it was stolen in Merseyside.
