Coun Glenda Powell, Herefordshire Independent, Belmont Ward says take part in care cost consultation

I WRITE in answer to Tony Rees of Little Birch’s letter headed “Caring for others could be costly” (Readers’ Times, July 26).

There were two well advertised meetings about the proposed charges at the Kindle Centre, Asda on July 24 and 25. Having attended one of these myself, I was disappointed at the very low attendance.

Those who did attend put a very strong case against the proposed charges Herefordshire Council wishes to implement.

We were advised that all residents of Herefordshire would be consulted and that consultation period runs until August 20.

Anyone wishing to get involved, which I strongly recommend, should either visit herefordshire.gov.uk/adultcare, call 01432 383838 or visit belmontindependent.com. On the health/social care page you will see in full the services being consulted on.

COUNCILLOR GLENDA POWELL, Herefordshire Independent, Belmont Ward.
