William Vaughan of Fownhope, Herefordshire, says time for county to move to Wales?

REGARDING the article on Ed Miliband’s gaffe (Hereford Times, July 19) confusing Herefordshire with Hertfordshire, it’s not the first time this has occurred.

When I go to London I’m questioned if I am from Wales.

I tell them that I’m from Herefordshire. and their reply is: “Well, that is in Wales.”

I belive that Herefordshire is the lost county in England.

Herefordians deserve better than what we get from, successive goverments.

We should now face west and get a fairer deal from the Welsh Assembly. After all, Herefordshire was once a part of Wales.

WILLIAM VAUGHAN, Fownhope , Herefordshire.

If Wales is so great why do so many welsh live this side of the border? We are English and should be proud of it!

The river was the boundary wasn't it? So only the Southern part of the county was in Wales?

And want fairer deal could we expect from the Welsh Assembly? I'm pretty sure most people would want to remain part of England!
