I WAS fortunate enough to be invited to watch Riverside Primary School’s year six leavers’ performance of Jack and the Beanstalk.

I don’t normally write letters to the paper but I really wanted to say, publicly, what an excellent show it was.

As a parent governor and relative newcomer to Hereford who has younger children at the school, this was my first experience of a Riverside end of year show.

I must say the outgoing year six has certainly set the bar very high in terms of theatrical ability.

The singing was fabulous, the comedy timing perfect and it was clear to see that this was a really wonderful team effort.

Congratulations to all of the children who took part and also to Mrs Walker, Mr Phillips and their band of helpers who must have worked incredibly hard to produce such a great show.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish all the year six children from Riverside (and elsewhere in the county) all the very best as they move on to their new schools in September.

Thanks again for a great evening’s entertainment.
