  • "Park at Morrison's for £1 for 2 hours 200 yards away? I'm sure most visitors can walk 200 yards there and back and are not at the hospital visiting for more than 2 hours."

Angela Bennett of Craswall says parking costs at Hereford County Hospital are outrageous.

Hospital parking fee is outrageous I AM writing to complain vociferously about the astronomical parking fees at Hereford County Hospital.

It is quite outrageous to charge £3 for an hour’s parking and even more outrageous to charge a further £1 for going over that hour by three minutes. This has been my recent experience.

The NHS is free at the point of contact – as long as you are feeling well and can walk long distances.

If you want to find a collective group of depressed and outraged patients, go to the parking machine paypoints.

Who receives all the money made on this scheme?

There are car parking schemes in existence that are far more sophisticated and therefore fairer to the user. NHS managers should invest in a change that would help the public to feel rather more positive towards the NHS administrative system.

What you have is daylight robbery.

ANGELA BENNETT, Craswall, Herefordshire.
