Mike Cobb of Kingstone, Hereford, says great event well run despite rain

I WENT to the Linton Festival and having looked at the weather forecast decided not to camp but to travel home each night.

As I left home on the Friday the roads were flooded, but as I drove towards Ross it became dry and much brighter. It did not rain for the rest of the evening, the beer was great and the music even better.

The team behind the festival had seen the weather forecast and with one of the sponsors, Land Rover, had erected a large tent over a good section of the area, which would normally be open.

The forecast was right: it rained a lot on Saturday, but once again the music was brilliant and the crowd loved it. On Sunday it did not rain until early evening and once again a great time was had by all.

This festival has to be one of the best and hopefully cannot be spoilt because it cannot fit any more people in. With its outstanding selection of brilliant artists, it just seems to get better every year.

My top four from this year were Vintage Trouble (USA), Bernie Marsden Band (UK), Larry Miller (UK) and The Grand Slambovians (USA).

I’m looking forward to meeting all my old and new friends I have met over the last three years. Thank you to all the people who helped to push cars out of the car parks. See you next year.

MIKE COBB, Kingstone, Hereford.
