J F Taylor of Kings Acre Road, Hereford, says roads in need of more urgent work

HAVE our council and the people that run our city gone completely mad?

The only thing I can suggest is that they get off their seats to have a walk and ride around the streets leading into Hereford to see the sunken manhole covers and trenches badly filled in – including parts of Whitecross Road, Barton Road, Widemarsh Street and the junction of Newmarket Street and Blueschool Street.

Are they going to waste more money in Broad Street like when the traffic was removed – and was a failure?

What has Widemarsh Street cost, with people falling over that stupid kerb?

I hope the same people will not be designing Broad Street.

It is not only Hereford City roads that are crumbling there are potholes on rural roads and in the market towns, so much neglect. It is a case of fur coat and no knickers. All top show.

To answer your original question the short answer is YES

"What has Widemarsh Street cost, with stupid people falling over that kerb?" - There, I've corrected that statement for you.

If people can't walk down a street without looking where they're putting their feet then they shouldn't be let out of the house.
