Ms Giulia Hetherington of Waltham Forest, London, says don’t spoil Hereford city centre

I VISITED Hereford over Easter, and along with many others, really enjoyed wandering around the city centre on Saturday. What a shame that things are set to change for the worse.

Building a new shopping centre, attracting new business and helping the local economy is one thing. Encouraging by whatever means necessary your existing shops to relocate away from the centre is quite another.

Cheaper rents will mean that your high street mainstays will inevitably move and become empty properties, unlikely to be filled.

This has happened to many other British town centres, including my own Midlands hometown, a shell of what it once was.

Do you really want this for Hereford?

For the sake of your heritage and your children's heritage, I urge you to put a stop to this madness.
