I HEARD on local radio in the week that there is another idea being put forward by Herefordshire Council.

The plan is that two people will be knocking on doors to question how you get from A-B.

I decided to walk into town.

Firstly, the pavement along Marlbrook Road needs attention, as do hedges growing over the footpath. But the pavement between Leysters Avenue and the new school, has been widened and tarmacked. Why?

Try walking down Ross Road. How mothers push prams and have a youngster walking to get to school, has to be questioned, as there is mud, the usual hedges growing and roots of a tree pushing up the pavement.

Try catching a bus by Web Tree Avenue with broken branches and mud so you step on the bus with dirty shoes.

I could go on and on but I challenge the councillors for this area to take a walk around. I will go with them.

Is all the money for pavement and road repairs being used to keep Widemarsh Street clean and clear of gum? What a joke. I don’t go to Hereford very often, but they always seem to be washing it.

What about the puddles in Bewell Street and St Peters Square? After being in Pembrokeshire for a few days again, you realise how scruffy Hereford is, with litter along verges as you approach the city.
