M R Leighton of Bobblestock, Hereford, says no more big food stores are needed

WHY do people keep banging on in Ledbury and Hay about why we need another supermarket?

No you don’t. There are enough food shops already. How much food do people want?

In my eyes it’s just down to greed.

Supermarkets kill towns but do the council and you care? No.

“I’m alright Jack” supermarkets are full of frozen food and processed food for people who can’t cook or are too lazy to cook.

Look at people Christmas shopping in supermarkets: can they get anymore in their trollies? It’s all down to greed and I bet half of it gets thrown away.

When I was a child we had a small van deliver food once a week and I’m still alive.

So forget the supermarkets and support our local shops which have better service, fresher food and a personal service. In a supermarket you are just a number.

Stop your groaning, stop being greedy, get off your backsides and support your local shops. If you don’t like it, you can always move.

M R LEIGHTON, Bobblestock, Hereford

Ref to Mr Leighton, god only knows what this has to do with you, you live approximately 15 miles away in a city which has more than enough supermarkets currently, and will shortly be building a new one namely waitrose, you do not live in an area where they do not have the storage capacity in the shops to cater for a town and the surrounding villages and i'd bet my last penny you shop in at least one of the major supermarkets in Hereford

Re: Mr Smith Smith

(so good you spelt it/ posted it twice hey?)

Did these people influence your thinking in anyway? -

As a member of the IPA, Goff Baley Whight is required to be an expert in its field and as such uphold the industry’s legal, regulatory and ethical standards, including the IPA rule book and the EACA Code of Ethics.

Apparently, local means anybody in one of the less committee's living room at the time!

And I wonder exactly who pulled the plug on another thread on the Ledbury reporter?? Not even any comment by them this time - just no comments ..... hmmmmmm???????

Mr Leighton, I have as much right as anyone to offer an opinion in the town I live in and why should I have to move, I've lived here all my life and love my town, even though it has developed more towards catering to the tourist industry, this new store will help restore the balance between Tourism requirements and local requirements.

As to you Hickson. If you must continue to spout lies then your point of view becomes useless, "put up or shut up" Hickson and before you reply with some comment you think clever, try googling GVA Grimley and see what a "lovely" bunch they are!

No local means living in the area, some would say people who have tried to intergrate into the area they live, others see local as people who have a history attached to the area .. really depends on your thinking.

As you say Colin -

" Colin J Marschall says...

Mr Leighton, I have as much right as anyone to offer an opinion in the town I live in...."

So do I
so please refrain from telling me what to think and do!

This is a diference between having an opinion and outright lies (as LOTS have pointed out on many occasions) as Mr Hadley has already found out when spewing out accusations on a PR company running LESS .. so again Hickson, put up the proof or shut the lies up.

Well done, Mr Leighton. You make a valid point very concisely.
