Charles Pickles, Project Engineer, ESG Herefordshire notes initial response has been very positive

7:00am Monday 15th March 2010

TO avoid confusion amongst readers of the Hereford Times, the 80 per cent support referred to in a report (February 25) was for the proposed redesign of the Newmarket Street and Blueschool Street section of the inner ring road in Hereford and not for the new link road as stated in the headline.

Plans for the link road are now before Herefordshire Council Planning Committee.

Initial response to the proposals by ESG and Stanhope to make the existing inner ring road more pedestrian friendly, ensuring connectivity between the historic core of the city and the new ESG developments has been very positive.

Over the coming few months ESG and Stanhope will be collating and studying the results of public consultation before finalising plans for this vital road improvement scheme.
