THE website of our MP, Paul Keetch, states that in 1998 he hosted a “prestigious Herefordshire Day at the Commons, showcasing what Herefordshire has to offer, highlighting the county within Westminster”.

That was 12 years ago. Has he done anything since?

I ask because a council officer at a recent PACT meeting in Ross told us that our county receives 17 per cent less funding from this Government than comparable authorities.

This explains why I am told that there is no money for a second bus shelter in Kingstone and no money for a proper footpath for children to walk to school safely.

Not exactly a success story for our elected member who claims on the same site to be “active in promoting Herefordshire and his constituency”.

We need parity with other authorities and we need someone more effective in speaking out for us all.
