F E Dupp of Kington thinks homes are a blot on face of town

HAVE Kingtonians been to see the excrescences being built by Bloor Homes at the old Eardisley Road site?

How awful they look – totally out of keeping with the area and a blot on the landscape.

It’s to be conjectured whether the area actually has a planning department, or if it was asleep the day permission was granted for this ghastly bunch of hideous edifices.

Their presence must surely devalue dwellings in the immediate area. It’s a mystery why, everywhere, houses are built so large when it’s well known that there are ever more single person households.

What is needed are ‘small’ homes, for one or two, a bit of garden and parking/garage, preferably without stairs. Easier and cheaper to maintain than such enormous constructions as Bloor has put up, or indeed as many builders put up elsewhere.

Has anyone seen those horrid things on the old garage site in Hay-on-Wye?

Ugly, nasty things with masses of stairs.
