EVERYONE must be aware of the tragic fire which destroyed the buildings of Skymark Packaging, Leominster.
I cannot begin to express my sense of loss and the emptiness I feel when I look at the burnt-out site. I have been a member of the Skymark family for over 17 years. I say family because that is what happens when you work for people like Mr Turner and Mr Toofanian.
They have the ability of making you feel like you belong and that you are a vital member of the team.
Skymark is not just a place of work.
For me and most of the team, it is a way of life, one which has touched so many lives. You get to know all the wives, husbands and children, and they have got to know mine.
I am writing today not to give a history lesson on the company but to offer a big thank you to all the many people who have offered us help.
There are just too many to name them but we have received offers of everything from sugar for our coffee, phones, printers and even office space.
There will always be those who see our misfortune as a way of making money.
We did need a desk for visitors to sit at in our temporary office. We went to a local charity shop. They said how sorry they were to hear what happened yet would not budge on the price of the table. I am sure not all charities would react in the same way so I will not dwell on the negative.
There has been so much kindness during a time of recession when people do not have much and I cannot hold back the emotion. So thank you to you all.
