I AM delighted to have it confirmed Gordon Brown and his cronies have a keen sense of ‘our’ priorities.
This week’s UK pledge of £5m to assist the tens of thousands of dead and homeless Burmese people has a certain mathematical charm, representing as it does just one ten thousandth of the £50 billion doled out to Northern Rock by the same government.
Wasn’t it Gordon Brown who said “government is about having to make hard choices”? I guess there is really no contest between the odd hundred thousand Burmese peasants and a few dozen bankers who might be left not knowing where their next huge bonus is coming from - makes you proud, doesn’t it!
