Bill Wiggin's May 12 View from Westminster needs to be refocussed. His fears about TTIP, if they were ever valid, will not be realised. Negotiations have broken down and the death knell for the agreement has sounded.
The EU offered has offered Turkey various carrots. But Erdogan will not mend his ways. So Bill's fears here will not be realised.
And Bill omitted to mention that the NFU is in favour of staying in the EU as the farming community will get a better deal.
Meanwhile, Jesse Norman's comments on the Five Presidents Report highlighted the Brexit group's overwrought response. It has always been understood that there will be a deepening of European integration. After the savageries of past years this is to be applauded. But Britain will not take that route and the rest of Europe has accepted our position. We are not part of the Eurozone, we are not part of Schengen. A little detached we may be, but involved we must be to help drive and direct the future of a continent.
