ONCE again we were able to see our local guides and scouts parading on St George’s day. These girls and boys are our future generation and had recently entertained us at the 25th Gang Show, this being another occasion where we saw the talent we have in our local guide and scout movement. All these events would not happen without our dedicated leaders who are all volunteers, they do an excellent job by giving up their spare time for free. Not just the hour or two for the meeting, but hours of planning in their free time too. I was a leader once running both a brownie unit and a guide unit and it gave me joy to see the girls grow into young women. Unfortunately, we need more volunteers so please ladies and get involved with your local units and see what fun and satisfaction you get from seeing these girls develop for the big wide world.
