I AM very concerned that the bus stop shelter on Little Burch Turn, Kings Thorn may be pulled down due to “asbestos in the roof” and a small step from the road and into the shelter.

The obvious answer is to replace the roof with timber and felt or some other suitable material; the step with a shallow ramp which could start from the side of the shelter; although no one has found this a problem.

The shelter was built in 1964 by local builders and is still in good repair and blends well into the landscape.

This wind proof shelter is essential at this location which is very exposed, as passengers from the no. 44 Little Dewchurch ‘link’ bus have to wait 15 minutes for their 32/33 connection to Hereford; therefore require a weatherproof shelter with a seat.

Also in the shelter is a public notice board for police, parish councils – Little Birch, Much Birch and Much Dewchurch (the parish the shelter is sited in) also posted are event notices for all the surrounding areas. Please do not demolish this shelter, but upgrade it. My husband and I fought for four years to get the bus stop to Ross-on-Wye officially located at its correct position; with a safe pavement for passengers; this has been greatly appreciated by all concerned. So please keep our bus shelter with an upgrade, and save public money.
